Homemade Meatball Sauce Recipe

Last week I made my boys favourite meal spaghetti and meatballs.
I posted a picture up onto Instagram as I usually do and was asked if I could do it as a blog post on how I made it, so here it is!

I prefer my boys to have more homemade food than to have lots of ready made meals and jars. As easy as they are Im not always a fan to the amount of salt and sugar some of them contain, so making my own is much more preferred.

Ingredients

-Salt
-Pepper
-Spinach
-Garlic
-Onion
-Ketchup
-Mustard
-Passata Sauce

Method

1. Heat up frying pan with olive oil.
2. Add onion, garlic and spinach and cook for 2 minutes, on a medium to high heat.
3. Add passata sauce, 1 teaspoon of mustard and 2/3 tablespoons of ketchup. ( you can change the amount due to personal taste)
4. Bring to the boil and add the cooked meatballs.
5. Low the heat and simmer until the sauce is thicker, add any salt and pepper if needed.

Then serve with spaghetti and enjoy!

This is such a simple and easy recipe I'm definitely not a pro in the kitchen! Im still very much learning as I go but the boys seem to love this sauce so I hope it was a useful post.

Tip:
If your kids are really fussy with veggies in their meal you could always blend them up in the sauce.  They won't know a thing!
